First Day of School 2012

Here Abbey is on her first day of first grade. She was so excited to wear this outfit!



This is Abbey at back-to-school night with me. Her teacher, Mrs. Gregerson, is in the background. She was lucky to get her good friend McKenzie in her class with her again this year.

Amazing what those sponge curlers did to her hair. Love it. (Notice the huge pile of unfolded laundry in the background...Nice Lisa, Nice.)

Ava started preschool this year too. She's in a different preschool than Andi, so she has a school to call her own. She loves claiming that it's "MY SCHOOL!" She seems to like it and she also seems to be learning a lot. Being around all those kids and making friends have been a good thing.

 

 

 

We gave the girls some books at the beginning of school.  Just a little something that I thought was a fun tradition to start.  Education was so important in my family and I hope to instill that in these children.  Learning is a gift and it can be exciting. 
Eric also gave the girls a father's blessing at the beginning of the school year.  It was one of the most spiritual experiences I've had with Eric and I won't be forgetting it.  He showed such a tender, wise part of himself that I really appreciated seeing.  He blessed the girls individually with their individual needs.  He talked about Daddy Michael and Mommy Sheri in their blessings.  Very special.  So proud of him and my whole family.  Those on this side of the veil and the other side.  That experience was a good reminder of our girls' spirit parents who are perhaps more a part of their lives than we sometimes realize.
