February 2014

February was a fun month.  These pictures don't include our Disneyland trip in February, but it includes everything else.

Andi made this Valentine at school for her daddy Michael.  It's her and "Daddy Michael."  Notice the glasses and that she dressed him in some of his favorite colors.

The girls woke up on Valentine's Day to find a cute little Valentine for each of them from Daddy Eric.  He made them hearts and put princess pins on them.  The pins were of their favorite princesses.  (A purchase made at Disneyland, of course.)  So so cute.

Eric's Valentine's gift to me.  He wrote me a cute note, bought the chocolates, printed off a bunch of hearts, and put the chocolates in these paper hearts.  Then he hid the chocolates all over the house.  I was still finding them in the weeks that followed.  :) 

So nice to have someone dote over you. So grateful.

My sister's dog, Molly, snoozin' on the bed with Harry.  She stayed with us for a weekend this month.  It just so happened that they both wanted to sleep on their back at the same time, so I had to get a shot of it.  Isn't it hilarious?!

On President's Day I took the girls up to Ogden to meet up with our good friends, the Jenks.  They went played at the bouncy place and had a TON of fun.  You can see those cheeks are red from playing.

 

I think this was a shot Eric took while we were on a trail in Farmington, taking the girls on bike rides.

We went to my dad's rental unit one night to help put up blinds, so the girls made due by playin' on their Kindles.

Grandma and Grandpa Zimmerman took the girls for a whole weekend in February.

Here they are doing fun activities with Grandma Zimmerman.  Beverly always manages to keep them busy with fun activities.

It was a little hard to have them gone all weekend, but in the end, it was super nice to have that time to get stuff done.  I painted our living room, we got Eric's truck worked on, Eric replaced a bunch of light fixtures at our house, and I think we even fit in a date night somewhere in there.  Experiencing a whole weekend without the girls was weird, but I knew they were in good hands and I love that the Zimmermans are so willing.

I think doing crafts and baking with Grandma Zimmerman is one of Abbey's favorite pasttimes.  It makes her so happy.

Abbey drew a picture of a snow owl because that's what she's been doing a report on at school.  She's been talking a lot about snow owls lately.  Pretty cute and smart little girl.

Disneyland: February 2014

We took the girls to Disneyland during the first part of February.  We'd been planning a trip there for a while, and we were excited for the fun!

I was worried if we waited too long to go that the girls wouldn't be as excited about it as they would be at the ages they are now.

My hopes for them to get "into it" were realized and they had a lot fun.

She may have been happy to be in the pool the whole trip, actually!  She has decided that swimming is her "thing."  She's developed some great sea legs.

 

This gives you a good idea what Eric and the girls did each morning while I stayed up in the room for extra z's and time to get ready.  Continental breakfast, baby.

These pictures are out of order.  Nevertheless, here is a picture of the girls at the airport on the way home.

This was the "World of Color" show we saw in the California Adventures park.  It was an amazing show.  We wished we could see a little better, though.  Hard to see over everyone's heads.  Eric climbed out of our spot to the top of the stairs so he could get this shot.

Abbey and Eric got to have quite a bit of time together while at Disneyland.  I took the younger girls on some of the "little kid" stuff while they ventured out on some of the bigger rides.

This picture is a prize possession of mine.  I put in a lot of good time and effort to make this happen.  Elsa and Anna from Frozen....The girls finally got to meet them!

If you look on the roof you can see Olaf from "Frozen."  There was a little "Frozen" cottage that housed Elsa and Anna.  Here we are standing outside of it.

In Bug's Land

Love this picture.  Taken right outside the Little Mermaid ride.  She and I were waiting in excitement as we stood in line.

They had some cute princess plays in Fantasyland that the girls loved.  A "Beauty and the Beast" play and a "Tangled" play as well.

Overall, I'd say the trip was a success.  Eric and I have rarely experienced a time in our marriage when we haven't had a lot of drama from the Little Girl Department.  This time around, though, we were blessed with quite a peaceful time.  I was so happy to see the girls experience the fun of being there.  I can't say I'm a big amusement park person, but it is true that it's a totally different experience when you take your kids.  It was like Christmas.  So glad we went! 
Next stop...Disneyworld!  Ha ha....
